EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's Ryan Lang (North Royalton, Ohio/Lakewood St. Edward) of wrestling and Chelsea Davis (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) of women's swimming & diving have been named Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Lang earned the honor after going undefeated last weekend at the Michigan State Open. After being awarded a first-round bye due to his No. 2 seed, Lang rattled off four consecutive victories en route to capturing the 141-pound crown. His final victory came against Michigan State's Nick Simmons, who is ranked No. 5 nationally. For his efforts during the tournament, Lang was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Michigan State Open.

Davis, a freshman, won both diving events Thursday at Wisconsin, shattering the Badger pool records in both. Her score of 339.00 on the 1-meter board broke the previous mark by 22 points, while her 413.55 performance on the 3-meter board obliterated the old record by a whopping 92 points. Both of the previous records were held by Northwestern junior Leanne Dumais (Ventura, Calif./Buena).
