EVANSTON, Ill. -- Junior Mike Alexandrov (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) was named Big Ten Co-Swimmer of the Week after winning a trio of events with NCAA 'B' standard times in a Big Ten double-dual meet against Purdue and Michigan State last weekend.
Alexandrov placed first in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events in times of 54.95 and 1:57.91, respectively. He also finished first in the 200 individual medley in 1:48.61. He is the first Wildcat to record 'B' standards this season.
The honor is the third of Alexandrov's career.
Northwestern returns to action at 5 p.m. Thursday in a dual meet at Wisconsin.
