ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Christian Tempke (Wentorf, Germany/Gymnasium Lohbrugge) fell in the main-draw singles round of 16, while the doubles team of Matt Christian (Troy, Mich./Brother Rice) and Adam Schaechterle (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) dropped their doubles match Sunday, to conclude Northwestern's action in the 2005 ITA Midwest Regional Championships.
Tempke advanced the furthest for the Wildcats in singles play, rolling through the competition to the round of 16. There, Tempke won his first set, but fell to Notre Dame's Stephen Bass, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
In doubles action, Christian and Schaechterle fell to Louisville's team of Demar Johnson and Slavko Radman, 8-5.
The Wildcats return to action Nov. 12-14 for the Big Ten Singles Championships, hosted by Michigan State.
