EVANSTON, Ill. -- Nothing is more exciting than playing in front of a packed crowd of loud, enthusiastic students. With fall approaching on Northwestern's beautiful lakefront sports complex, it is time to come out and cheer on your Wildcat field hockey and soccer programs -- all off to fast starts in the 2005 season!
This weekend is chock full of big games and great giveaways for the fans! Students must show their WildCARDS to participate. Check out what is going on this weekend:
Friday, Sept. 30
Women's Soccer vs. No. 3 Penn State at 4 p.m.
NU student "Pregame Pizza Pandemonium"
FREE Pizza, desserts and interactive games begin at 3:30 p.m.
"Freshman Freebie"
Bring an NU freshman to the game and receive a free Chipotle burrito coupon for you and your freshman friend!
The burritos don't stop there! Fans will be invited on the field at the half for "Halftime Hotshot," which gives all fans in attendance a chance to win great prizes -- including burritos from Chipotle!
Saturday, Oct. 1
Field Hockey vs. Ohio State at 1 p.m.
It is "Residence Hall Day" at the lakefront Leonard B. Thomas Sports Complex. The students from the hall with the most residents in attendance will each receive a free burrito coupon from Chipotle!
Sunday, Oct. 2
Women's Soccer vs. Minnesota at 12:30 p.m.
Men's Soccer vs. Michigan State at 3 p.m.
It's a soccer doubleheader at the most scenic college soccer venue in the country!
First during the women's game, participate in the "Halftime Hotshot" contest to win great prizes, including burritos from Chipotle.
During the men's game, it is time to put on the Freshman 50 during "Freshmen Day!" If 50 freshmen attend the match, the first 50 will receive a free Chipotle burrito coupon. If less than 50 come, no one wins so bring your friends!
Freshmen will also be selected for the halftime contest and ALL students can buy hot dogs for just $1 with their WildCARD!
Admission is free for soccer and field hockey. All matches take place at the LBT Sports Complex located just south of the Sports Pavilion and Aquatics Center overlooking Lake Michigan.
