Sweatshirt Design Contest -- Be a Part of NU History!

Tired of paying too much for NU apparel? Introducing the new custom-designed Northwestern hooded sweatshirt for just $15 (priced exclusively for NU students)!

Are you interested in becoming a part of Northwestern history? The Northwestern University Department of Athletics and Recreation, the Associated Student Government, and Let's Tailgate© are teaming up to bring you the most affordable sweatshirt (and t-shirts) around! And we're looking for YOUR designs to create it!

This bargain purple hoodie and t-shirts will tentatively be offered starting September 2005. A panel of students, as well as Athletic Department and Let's Tailgate© staff will vote on designs and announce a winner by May 27. The winner will receive a prize package from the Athletic Department, including a $100 gift certificate to Let's Tailgate©, and will also be recognized at halftime when Northwestern football takes on Penn State on September 24.

Entries for this contest will be open to all currently enrolled Northwestern students.

  • All submissions for designs should be limited to four colors: purple, white, grey, and black, with purple serving as the background color and white, grey, and black being used for any patterns on the shirt.
  • Designs should be limited to the front of the sweatshirt. It is preferred, but not required, that the submissions incorporate the "Paint the Town Purple" theme.
  • Entries may not contain commercialism or sponsorships and should adhere to the Northwestern University Non-Discrimination Policy.

    • Your design must be turned in no later than NOON on Friday, May 20, 2005 to the Campus Public Relations Chair mailbox in the ASG outer office (third floor of Norris, next to the Campus Activities Office) or by email to asg@northwestern.edu.
