EVANSTON, Ill. - Junior Adam Schaechterle (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) and senior Sarah Albrecht (Braintree, Mass./Thayer Academy) have been named Northwestern's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Schaechterle clinched Northwestern's 5-2 upset over No. 24 Ohio State Sunday with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles. Schaechterle outlasted Buckeye Dennis Mertens in a first-set tiebreak, 7-6 (3), and later claimed the second set, 6-2, to seal the upset. The junior also played a major role in doubles play, notching a win alongside sophomore Christian Tempke at the No. 2 slot, 8-5. The duo was down 5-4, but won four games in a row for their first victory of the season together.

Albrecht still has a year of eligibility left, but she provides one of the steady hands on the potent Wildcat lacrosse offense. She was the catalyst to the team's 12-3 win over Johns Hopkins Friday night, scoring a game-high four goals to keep the Wildcats undefeated at 15-0 including 4-0 in the American Lacrosse Conference. NU heads to Vanderbilt this weekend with a chance to clinch its second-straight ALC title.
