EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Kristen Kjellman (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) of women's lacrosse and Chuck Perrin (Atlanta, Ga./The Walker School) of men's tennis as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Kjellman shone brightest on the biggest stage Sunday, stealing the show as No. 1 Northwestern defeated No. 2 Duke, 16-11. Kjellman's first point came on an assist that allowed the Wildcats to tie the game, 6-6, after they had been down 6-2.
She would then go on to figure in seven of NU's 10 goals the rest of the way, scoring five of them (four unassisted) and assisting two others. Kjellman also had six draw controls on the day.
Perrin continued to heat up for the 'Cats over the weekend by notching a pair of doubles and singles victories in Northwestern's 4-3 win over Minnesota and 5-2 win over Iowa. Perrin has won four of his last five matches at the No. 3 slot.
He also has become a fixture at No. 1 doubles, where he has won his last five matches alongside fellow senior Tommy Hanus. The duo is a perfect 4-0 in conference play.
