TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senior Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) fired a school- and tournament-record 5-under 67 on Sunday to pace the 49th-ranked Wildcats to the Mountain View Collegiate championship -- their first tournament win in four years. Northwestern finished 10 strokes ahead of Idaho and 11 in front of 15th-ranked Missouri, with a tournament-record 870 (291-292-287). Sunday's third-round 287 also was a tourney record.

The seventh-annual event was held at the Mountain View Golf Course (par-72, 5,982 yards) and hosted by the University of Colorado.

Kim's third-round 67 beat out the 68 that her sister, Hana, shot in the 2001 Big 12 Invitational. Kim also finished with a school-record 54-hole score, a 5-under 211 (70-74-67), that left her in second place, two strokes back of individual champion Meghan Little of Louisville. The second-place finish is the best of Kim's career.

Sophomore Heather Scholten (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian), who was in fifth place after the first two rounds, shot a 2-over 74 Sunday and finished with a 1-over 217 (71-72-74), good enough for eighth place. Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood), another sophomore, carded a 3-under 69 in the third round to finish in 12th place at 3-over (75-75-69=219).

Freshman Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh-Jesuit) turned in a 30th-place showing by shooting a 7-over 223 (75-71-77). Sophomore Kelly Robb (Concord, Mass./Middlesex School) rounded out NU's scoring contingent with a 22-over 238 (77-79-82).

Northwestern also had three other players competing independently of the team. Freshman Justina Yu (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) turned in the most impressive effort, firing a 4-over 220 (74-74-72) and placing 15th. Freshman Katie Trachok (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) finished 48th with a 13-over 229 (78-74-77) and senior Mary Ellen Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) was 72nd with a 22-over 238 (82-77-79).

The Wildcats take a week off before returning to action in the Midwest, playing at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational on April 9 and 10 in West Lafayette, Ind.
