Wildcats In First Place After Two Rounds of Mountain View Collegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. -- With three players in the top 13, Northwestern owns a two-stroke lead at the Seventh Annual Mountain View Collegiate, which is being hosted by the University of Colorado. The Wildcats fired rounds of 291 and 292 and are two strokes in front of Missouri, three ahead of Iowa State and five ahead of Colorado State.

Sophomore Heather Scholten (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) leads NU's contingent, sitting fifth with a 1-under 143 (71-72). She is six strokes behind Louisville's Meghan Little (68-69=137), the tourney leader.

Senior Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) is tied for sixth place after shooting an even-par 144 (70-74). Freshman Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) is in 13th place with a 2-over 146 (75-71). Sophomore Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) is 31st at 6-over (75-75=150).

The final round begins at 9 a.m. CST on Sunday.
