EVANSTON, Ill. - Freshman Jake Herbert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and senior Julia Földi (Budapest, Hungary/Szent Istavan Gimnazium) have been named Northwestern's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

After dropping his second-round match at the NCAA Championships, Herbert ran off six-straight victories (including three-straight pins and one technical fall) en route to claiming third place. His 7-1 overall record was instrumental in the Wildcats' 14th-place finish. In the third-place bout, the fourth-seeded Herbert upset Illinois' third-seeded Pete Friedl, 6-3 -- exacting revenge after falling to Friedl in the Big Ten Championships two weeks ago. Along with his third-place finish came All-America honors, making Herbert Northwestern's first such honoree since Scott Schatzman in 2000.

Foldi became Northwestern's first four-time All-America over the weekend by placing eighth in the foil competition at the NCAA Championships in Houston, Texas, leading the Wildcats to an overall eighth-place finish. She placed eighth at the Championships last year, as well, and took 10th her sophomore year. Foldi ends her career as Northwestern's all-time foil victories leader.
