EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern concluded competition at the North American Cup in Overland Park, Kan. over the weekend, as a number of Wildcats posted strong finishes.

In the division one epee, junior Sharon Sullivan (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) finished 31st out of 100 competitors.

In the junior sabre, sophomore Mai Vu (New York, N.Y./Bronx Science) was strongest for Northwestern with a 22nd-place finish out of 66 competitors. Sophomore Sophie Eustis (Andover, Mass./Concord Academy) finished 30th, and freshman Gina Annunziato (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) claimed 34th place.

The division one foil competition yielded two top-15 finishes for the `Cats. Sophomore Jessica Florendo (Forest Hills, N.Y./The Dwight School) claimed eighth place out of 91 fencers and senior all-American Candidate Julia Foldi (Budapest, Hungary/Szent Istavan Gimnazium) took 14th. Junior Christina Wang (Milpitas, Calif./Castilleja) came in 45th place, while her younger sister freshman Natalie Wang (Milpitas, Calif./Presentation) took 57th place.

The `Cats are next in action Saturday through Sunday, Jan. 22-23 when they host the NU Duals.
