EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern travels to Richmond, Va. this Friday, Dec. 10 through Monday, Dec. 13 to compete in the United States Fencing Association (USFA) North American Cup.
Last year, senior Julia Földi (Budapest, Hungary/Szent Istavan Gimnazium) finished with her second-consecutive, top-15 performance in the senior/division 1 foil competition. Foldi took 12th out of 91, while sophomore Jessica Florendo (Forest Hills, N.Y./The Dwight School) ended up 28th.
Junior Emily Pasternak (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) placed a sabre squad-high 31st in the senior class (division 1), while sophomore Sophie Eustis (Andover, Mass./Concord Academy) finished in 34th place.
Junior Sharon Sullivan (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) took 14th in the junior women's epee competition to lead all NU epeeists. In other results, sophomore Sara Pecherek (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) tied for 40th, sophomore Courtney DuBois (Chatham, N.J./Oak Knoll) tied for 48th and sophomore Sarah Gravlee (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) ended up 72nd.
