EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern sophomore Will Nicholas (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week for his play in NU's Lakeside Classic last weekend. The selection is the Wildcats' first in head coach Tim Lenahan's tenure.
Nicholas scored two goals and registered three assists, including a game-winner in overtime against DePaul last weekend. He is now second on Northwestern with seven points.
The Wildcats as a team are currently ninth in the Great Lakes region in the latest NSCAA/adidas rankings. It is Northwestern's first appearance in the poll in the Lenahan era.
With a 4-1 record, NU is off to its best start in the history of the program.
