ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Northwestern concluded its first fall tournament with an eighth-place finish at the Lady Northern Invitational, held at Michigan's U-M Golf Course. The host Wolverines won the tournament by four strokes over Ohio State. Northwestern shared eighth place with Notre Dame, and was one stroke back of seventh-place Oklahoma.

Among Big Ten schools, the Wildcats placed fifth.

The Wildcats were paced by freshman Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) and sophomore Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwoo), who both finished in 22nd place at 12-over. Johnston, one of two freshmen in the Wildcat lineup, had rounds of 78, 73 and 77 while Kim's three 18-hole scores were nearly identical -- 77, 73 and 78.

Senior Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) placed 33rd with a 16-over 232 (73-79-80). NU's second freshman, Katie Trachock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was 44th with a 20-over 236 (77-78-81).

The Wildcats return to action next weekend at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
