WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Led by freshman Alice Kim's (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) 5-over 149 (74-75), 41st-ranked Northwestern is in sixth place after the first two rounds of the Lady Boilermaker Invitational, being held at Purdue's Kampen Course. The final 18 holes will be played Sunday.

The Wildcats shot rounds of 315 and 306 (+45) and are 25 strokes back of first-place Indiana, which fired identical 298s on the day. Four other Big Ten schools separate the Wildcats and Hoosiers: Michigan State (+26), Purdue (+36), Iowa (+38) and Michigan (+40).

Indiana's Danah Ford is trying to run away from the field after shooting a 5-under 139 on Saturday. She is a comfortable nine strokes in front of Kent State's Gabby Wedding (+4).

Joining NU at the top of the leaderboard is another freshman, Heather Scholten (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian), who is in 15th place at 10-over (81-73=154). Junior Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) shot a pair of 80s and is in 35th place (80-80=160).

Junior Mary Ellen Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) is a few spots behind Ina Kim, tied for 39th after posting an 18-over 162 (80-82). Freshman Kelly Robb (Concord, Mass./Middlesex School), who has been slowed with a back injury of late, and senior Lauren Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) are both in 43rd place at 19-over. Robb had rounds of 85 and 78, while Lauren Grzebien carded an 82 and 81.
