EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named junior fencer Julia F?ldi (Budapest, Hungary/Szent Istavan Gimnazium) and freshman swimmer Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
F?ldi earned her third-consecutive All-America honor in leading NU to its best showing since 2000 at the NCAA Championships; the Wildcats captured sixth place in the women's division with 50 team points. With her eighth-place performance from 15 wins and a +23 indicator, she led her teammates again en route to second-team All-America status.
F?ldi ends the season with a team-best 115-17 record.
Grevers led the men's swim team to an 11th-place finish March 25-27 at the NCAA Championships. Grevers earned All-America honors in the 100-meter backstroke, finishing sixth. He also earned honorable mention All-America status by placing ninth in the 50-meter freestyle and 12th in the 100-meter freestyle.
Grevers also was a member of the 200- and 400-meter freestyle and 200- and 400-meter medley relays, all of which earned All-America honors.
