HOUSTON -- With the first round now complete, Northwestern's 38th-ranked Wildcats are in a three-way tie for fifth place at the 11th Annual Texas A&M "Mo"morial Invitational. The tournament, which concludes on Tuesday, is being played at the Blackhorse Golf Club North Course. The second of three rounds is being played Monday afternoon/early evening.
Led by its freshmen trio, the Wildcats are 11 strokes back of 37th-ranked Kansas State, the first-round leader. Kelly Robb (Concord, Mass./Middlesex School) is in sixth place at 1-over, three strokes behind KSU's Christine Boucher. Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood), who finished fourth at last week's Central District Classic, is 4-over and in 17th place. Freshman Heather Scholten (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and junior Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) are both 5-over and tied for 26th place.
