PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - With rain falling on an already wet field, officials canceled Northwestern's game against Pacific with one out recorded in the third inning. The game does not count for either team. Northwestern had built a 5-1 lead, however, grounds crew members at the Big League Dreams Stadium deemed conditions unplayable.
Northwestern finished the Palm Springs Classic 2-2 with wins over No. 8 Stanford and Boston College and losses to No. 1 UCLA and No. 7 Alabama. The Wilcats are off this weekend and will be back in action March 4-7 when they head to Clearwater, Fla. for the Speedline Invitational.
