Jitim Young Earns NABC All-District Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern men's basketball senior guard Jitim Young earned second-team all-district honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The all-district teams were announced Wednesday.

Young earned second-team honors in District 11, and was joined on that team by Mike Williams (Western Michigan), Cedric Banks (UIC), Mike Wilkinson (Wisconsin) and Deron Williams (Illinois).

The District 11 first team was made up of Devin Harris (Wisconsin), Kris Humphries (Minnesota), Paul Davis (Michigan State), Travis Diener (Marquette), and Dylan Page (UW-Milwaukee).

Young currently leads the Wildcats in scoring (17.6 ppg) and rebounding (6.3 rpg), and is among the Top 10 in the Big Ten in both categories. He has led Northwestern in scoring 13 times this season and rebounding 16 times, and also holds the team lead with 19 double-figure scoring games, eight 20-point games, and three double-doubles.

For his career, Young is seventh on NU's all-time scoring list with 1,390 points and second with 194 steals. He is in the Top 10 in six other categories.
