TERRA HAUTE, Ind. - One Northwestern freshman finished seventh and two fellow Wildcats finished in the top-half of competition in Saturday morning's Sycamore Open, hosted by Indiana State University. Indiana State senior Jessica Crowder and junior Aaron Harding each took home first place at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Twelve members of the women's cross country team traveled to Indiana for the second competition of 2003. Freshmen Katie Romaine and Mallory O'Neil, who each placed highly in the Wildcat Open on August 30, placed seventh and 11th in the meet to lead NU's runners. Romaine's time, 15:25, was 1:08 off the leader while O'Neil was 1:21 behind.
The Wildcats will next compete in the Spartan Open on September 19 in East Lansing, Mich.
