EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's annual spring game, slated for noon on Saturday, April 26 at Ryan Field, has been canceled due to the resodding of the field.
"First and foremost, we're concerned about the safety of our players," said head coach Randy Walker. "We also want to make sure that the new turf is ready to play on in September, so it was necessary that we start this project immediately. I hope our fans understand our situation."
Northwestern, which wraps up its spring drills that day, will hold a closed practice, either in Trienens Hall or on its north outdoor practice field.
