AUSTIN, Texas -- Northwestern women's golf team posted its best team round of the three-day Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational -- a 37-over 325 -- and finished 10th among the 12 competing schools at the challenging Hills Country Club.
Oklahoma State, the country's fourth-ranked team, held off a late charge by the host Texas Longhorns and won the 30th annual event with a 32-over 896. Texas finished six strokes behind Oklahoma State.
Junior Lauren Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) posted the Wildcats' best score on Tuesday, shooting a 7-over 79. That score gave her a three-day total of 246 (83-84-79), tying teammate Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) for 37th place. Burden shot rounds of 80, 83 and 83.
Sophomore Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) finished 45th at 35-over-par (78-88-85).
Texas' Jessica Reese, who tied a school record with a 67 on Sunday, won the event by 12 strokes (4-under 212).
