AUSTIN, Texas -- After a three-week hiatus, Northwestern's women's golf team returns to action on Sunday, playing at the 30th Annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at The Hills Country Club. The Wildcats are one of 12 teams entered in this year's field.
"This is traditionally one of the best tournaments in the country," said NU coach Chris Regenberg. "All 12 schools are ranked in the top 100 and there are several (four) top-25 teams. This is again a chance for us to compete against some of the country's top teams and players."
The Wildcats are ranked 47th in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin index. The top-ranked teams include fourth-ranked Oklahoma State, seventh-ranked Texas, the host school, 20th-ranked Ohio State and 23rd-ranked Oklahoma.
In addition to Ohio State and Northwestern, two other Big Ten schools, Michigan and Michigan State, are competing in the tournament.
