Sunday's Game
Northwestern has been the No. 11 seed in the Big Ten's annual postseason tournament for the past two years, but with a win today, the 'Cats could secure a 10-seed and a 4:30 matchup against the conferences No. 7 team. NU could finish as high as ninth-with a Wildcat win and an Indiana loss-but the Hoosiers hold the tiebreaker, giving them the higher seeding.

If State wins and Michigan loses, NU still holds the No. 10 spot, as both NU and Michigan won their respective home games against each other in the regular season. NU holds the tiebreaker vs. Michigan, giving NU rights to the 10-spot. So, win or lose, as long as Michigan copies the 'Cats, NU keeps the 10-seed.

Talking about the 10 and 11 seed at the conference tourney would be a moot point had NU been able to take care of business Thursday night at Illinois.

With nine seconds to play, NU failed on an attempted in-bounds pass, giving the Illini 9.8 seconds to win the game. Lindsay Hughes did just that, sinking a fade-away 12-footer over an outstretched 6-foot-4 Sarah Kwasinski, giving Illinois the 60-58 victory.
