Northwestern and Minnesota meet for the second time in 11 days as the No. 17/18 Gophers defeated the Wildcats 67-56 on Feb. 2 at Minnesota's Williams Arena.
Northwestern is coming off one of its most dominating wins in recent history. Up 7-6 with 14:30 remaining in the first period, NU rattled off 31 unanswered points on its way to a 67-38 blowout of Michigan. The Wolverines' 38 points is an all-time low for points scored by an NU opponent in Big Ten games. It's also the Wildcats most lopsided win since they beat Michigan 104-65 on Feb. 16, 1997. The win also marked the largest margin of victory for the Wildcats in the June Olkowski era.
NU's recent run of good shooting began against the Gophers. Since that night (three games), NU has compiled a .511 overall shooting percentage (72-for-141) and a .500 three-point percentage (21-for-42). In that same span, opponents are hitting just .366 (59-for161) from the field and .245 (12-for-49) from behind the arc.
