Chuck Perrin (Atlanta, Ga./The Walker School) of the men's tennis team and Paige Nath (Wichita, Kan./Trinity Academy) of the women's swimming and diving team garnered Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honors. Northwestern announced the accomplishment for Perrin and Nath's athletic competition from the week of Jan. 13.
Perrin went undefeated as the 'Cats kicked off the season with a 2-0 start. Perrin paired with senior Jackie Jenkins to go 2-0 at No. 2 doubles, including an 8-5 win against the 20th-ranked duo in the country (NIU's Juan Pablo Barriga and Erick Martinez). Perrin and Jenkins are a team-best 6-1 on the season. In singles play, Perrin picked up a pair of straight-set wins, improving his record to 7-5.
Nath posted a pair of career-best times in helping lead the Wildcats to a convincing 204.5-147.5 victory over 24th-ranked Tennessee Saturday. Nath set personal records in winning the 100 freestyle in a time of 52.18 and the 100 breaststoke in 1:05.20. She also played a key role on each of Northwestern's four winning relay squads. The 'Cats set season-best times in three of the relays.
