EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern will compete at the adidas Invitational in Peachtree, Ga. from Sept. 27-29. No team results will be kept, as the tournament is based on individual competition.
The Wildcats are coming off a stellar showing at the Tom Fall Invitational last weekend at Notre Dame. Sophomore Chuck Perrin (Atlanta, Ga./The Walker School) led the 'Cats with a pair of doubles wins and a pair of singles wins. Classmate Tommy Hanus (Palatine, Ill./Palatine), the 2002 ITA Region IV Rookie of the Year, picked up a doubles win with Perrin.
Freshman Adam Schaechterle (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) had an impressive debut, pairing with senior Jackie Jenkins (College Park, Ga./Westlake) for a 2-0 doubles mark at Notre Dame.
The Wildcats return home Sunday and begin preparation for the ITA All-American Championships, which get underway Oct. 4.
