EVANSTON, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference office announced its Academic All-Big Ten honorees for the spring sports and other at-large sports, and several Northwestern athletes were listed among the honorees. Because they compete in sports that the Big Ten does not sponsor a championship for, Northwestern's fencing and women's lacrosse teams fall under the at-large category and are listed with the spring Academic All-Big Ten Team. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, an athlete must be a letterwinner in at least their second academic year at the school and carry a career GPA of 3.0 or better.
