WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Northwestern's Friday afternoon baseball game vs. Purdue was postponed because of strong rain and lightning in the West Lafayette area. Just minutes away from throwing the first pitch, umpires decided to call the game because of lightning. Purdue rolled out the tarp and the skies opened up dumping sheets of rain onto the field. After a one hour five-minute rain delay, the game was officially called.
The two teams will meet tomorrow at 1 p.m. and play two seven-inning games.
