Men's Tennis Rallies From 3-0 Deficit to Beat No. 55 Louisville

SEATTLE - Northwestern's men's tennis team rallied from a 3-0 deficit against No. 55 Louisville to take the match, 4-3, at the Great Northwest Shootout Sunday.

No. 49 NU (6-2, 1-0 Big Ten) lost the doubles point, and Ryan Edlefsen (Eden Prairie, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson) and Jackie Jenkins (College Park, Ga./Westlake) lost their singles matches at the No. 1 and No. 4 positions, putting the 'Cats down 3-0.

Then it was rally time. Jamie Sahara (Santa Maria, Calif./St. Joseph) and Tommy Hanus (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) took care of their opponents in straight sets. Hanus is now 8-0 on the season.

Chuck Perrin (Atlanta, Ga./The Walker School) took a little bit longer to win, losing the first set but nearly sweeping the next two.

Josh Axler (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) clinched the win for the 'Cats at the No. 5 position, defeating Matt Mayer 2-6, 7-6, 6-2.

NU will play host school No. 23 Washington Sunday in the final match of the Great Northwest Shootout.
