Tampa, Fla. - Another late inning rally fell short for the Northwestern softball team as it fell to Florida Atlantic for the second time this weekend at the Louisville Slugger Tournament. The 'Cats end their opening weekend with a 2-3 mark, while the Owls roll to a 5-0 start.

NU fell behind 2-0 early, not scoring in the first six innings of play. Rane Gunderson (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) broke the scoring drought in the seventh, doubling home the 'Cats lone run. Gunderson, representing the tying run, was left stranded on second to end the game.

The Wildcats will be back in action Feb. 15-17 in San Diego, Calif.
