EVANSTON, Ill.-Northwestern's women's golf coach Chris Regenberg has tabbed Michael Henry as the Wildcats' new assistant coach. He replaces Kevin Lynch, who was serving as an assistant for both the men's and women's golf teams a year ago.
"Mike brings a new realm of enthusiasm to our program," said Regenberg. "His knowledge of the golf industry and his eagerness to recruit top talent will help to continue our program's growth to even higher levels."
A 2000 graduate of Coastal Carolina University, Henry is in his first year as an assistant professional at Green Acres Country Club in Northbrook, Ill. He also is presently serving as a PGA of America apprentice.
Henry, a native of Bradenton, Fla., earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis on professional golf management (PGM).
The past two years, Northwestern's women's golf team has been ranked in the nation's top 20 at one point during the season. They were ranked 21st in the latest Golf World poll.
