DALLAS -- Playing against some of the nation's elite program, Northwestern finished 12th out of 15 teams Tuesday afternoon at the Taylor Made Red River Classic.
The Wildcats were consistent in all three rounds, shooting a 289 for each to finish three-over-par. Sophomore Tom Johnson (Fair Oaks, Calif./Del Campo) led the Wildcats, shooting a two-under-par 214 to finish in a three-way tie for 24th place.
Northwestern's other finishers included: Chris Thayer (Richmond, Va./Godwin), who placed 27th with scores of 71-72-72=215, T.C. Ford (Covington, La./Mandeville), who placed 47th with scores of 72-73-74=219, Bjorn Widerstedt (Vasteras, Sweden/Flagler College), who placed 51st with scores of 75-73-72=220, and Scott Harrington (Portland, Ore./Jesuit), who placed 70th with scores of 75-77-73=225.
Texas, the host school, won the tourney title with a 30-under-par team score of 834. The Longhorns' Jason Hartwick was the Classic medalist with a 15-under-par 201.
The Wildcats complete their fall schedule on Oct. 22 and 23 at The Tillinghast tournament in Scarsdale, N.Y.
