Women's Golf Third After Day Two at Lady Northern

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team is in third place after two days at the 14-team Lady Northern. The Wildcats' team score of 591 is 10 off the pace being set by Michigan with one day left.

Kent State is in second place, just ahead of Northwestern with 590, while Illinois is fourth at 594 and Indiana is fifth at 595.

Freshman Ina Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) and senior Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) represent Northwestern among the Top 20 individuals. Kim has shot 76-71=147 and is tied for fifth place, while Gilley has shot 75-73=148 and is tied for 12th.

Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) and Lauren Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) are tied for 23rd with two-day totals of 150. Burden matched her 75 from Friday in the second round, while Grzebien fired a 73 after a 77 on Friday.

Among Northwestern's other golfers, Hana Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) is tied for 35th with a 153 (82-71) and Mary Ellen Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) is tied for 40th with a 154 (80-74).

The Lady Northern concludes Sunday.
