EVANSTON, Ill. - The Big Ten Men's Basketball Foreign Tour Team concluded its August journey through England and Ireland with a 6-0 record, and Northwestern senior-to-be Tavaras Hardy was a big reason for the team's success.
Hardy finished the trip with a 12.3 points-per-game average, which placed him third on the team behind Michigan State's Adam Wolfe (14.3 ppg) and Michigan's Gavin Groninger (13.3 ppg). Hardy also finished tied for second on the team with 5.8 rebounds per contest, behind Wolfe (6.5 rpg) and tied with Illinois' Nick Smith.
Hardy led the team in scoring twice during the trip. He scored 17 points in the opening win over the Ealing Tornados Select (110-83), and later scored 18 points in a 105-47 win over Waterford Crystal. Hardy also had double figures against London Towers (11) and Limerick Burger King (13).
The Big Ten Foreign Tour Team went undefeated for the first time on this trip since 1995.
