Luke Donald, Tom Johnson Named to Ping All-America Golf Teams

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern men's golfers Luke Donald (High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England/Royal Grammar School) and Tom Johnson (Fair Oaks, Calif./Del Campo) were named All-Americans today by Ping. Donald received his third consecutive first-team nomination, while Johnson received honorable mention.

Donald's 2000-01 stroke average of 70.76 was third best in school history, just behind his averages from the previous two years. He owns every school record except one (lowest round), and won four straight tournaments this season.

Playing his first year of collegiate golf, Johnson finished second on the team with a stroke average of 72.62, the second best average for a freshman (behind Donald) in school history.
