STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Northwestern tennis player Lia Jackson fell in straight sets to Vladka Uhlirova of Texas (6-2, 6-2) in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Tournament at the Lincoln Tennis Center in Stone Mountain, Ga.
Jackson finishes the season with a 31-13 record, and entered the tournament with a national ranking of 60th. The junior from Glendale, Wis., played at No. 2 on the ladder for the 'Cats, compiling a 16-7 dual record at that position.
Due to inclement weather at the Lincoln Tennis Center, Colleen Cheng's first-round match has been delayed.
