Women's Lacrosse Advance at ULIA National Club Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's lacrosse team advanced to Sunday at the U.S. Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates (USLIA) Women's Club Championships. The Wildcats lived to play another day, thanks to their first-round win over Texas A&M, 17-7, Saturday morning. That was followed by an 11-9 loss to Navy, the top seed in Pool A (Northwestern is seeded second in Pool A).

The Wildcats will now play Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo in one of two semifinals on Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Anhueser-Busch Sports Centre in St. Louis, Mo. Cal Poly advanced to Sunday out of Pool B with wins over Georgia and the Pool B top seed, Army. Army and Navy will meet in the other semifinal, with the winners vying for the championship at 1:30 p.m.

In the win over Texas A&M, the Wildcats were led by Lillian Lardy, who had four goals and three assists. Patty West added three goals and two assists, while Susan Garea and Julie Lazarus had two goals and two assists apiece.

Lardy had four goals in the loss to Navy, while West added two goals and an assist.
