Chapel Hill, N.C. - After two rain delays on the final day of the NCAA East Regional, officials called the tournament with seven teams left to finish. Northwestern and the other six teams officially tie for 15th place with no final round scores. All were mathematically eliminated from the running for a spot in the NCAA Championships.
The Wildcats struggled on the difficult Finley Golf Course (par 72-6,211 yards) in the championships, shooting rounds of 314-308=622. Duke won the tournament for the second straight year with a three-day total of 871.
Individually for the `Cats, Elizabeth Burden had the best weekend with rounds of 78-73=151. She was in 25th place after the second round. Hana Kim and Lauren Grzebien were able to finish their final 18 on Saturday, carding rounds of 77 and 80, respectively.
