May 4, 2001

Evanston, Ill. - Senior men's golfer Luke Donald (High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England/Royal Grammar School) was named the Rolex College Golfer of the Month for April after winning all three events he entered during the month. Donald began the month by capturing medalist honors at the Ford U.S. Collegiate Championships in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, with a 14-under-par 202. Next, he won the Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio, with a three-round 1-under-par total. Most recently, he won the Fossum Intercollegiate at Michigan State by carding a career-best 64 in the final round, and finishing 8-under-par. For the month of April, Donald compiled a 68.78 stroke average in nine rounds.

The Rolex College Golfer of the Month award is voted on by members of the College Golf Foundation's Golfer of the Month committee. The award is based primarily on results from Rolex Collegiate Tour events, plus conference championships, NCAA regionals and the NCAA Championships.
