EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team shot a team-total 314 to move into a tie for third place with Minnesota, leaving one round to play at the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis. Scores for all teams fell on the second day of action at Les Bolstead Golf Course (par 72-5,979), helping the `Cats stay within 10 strokes of tournament leader Michigan State.
The `Cats are led by their two freshmen, Lauren Grzebien and Hana Kim. Grzebien fell from yesterday's third-place finish into a tie with Kim at 15th. Sophomore Elizabeth Burden used a 3-over-par 75 to jump from 35th to 19th. Her 75 was the Wildcats' low round for the day. Junior Emily Gilley has been consistent all weekend, shooting rounds of 78-77-79=234 to place her in a tie for 20th.
