EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds of play at the Big Ten Championships on Les Bolstad Golf Course (par 72-5,979) in Minneapolis, Minn. The Wildcats shot rounds of 304-303=607 and are five off the pace being set by tournament leader Michigan State.
Freshman Lauren Grzebien is one shot off the lead individually, with rounds of 75-73=148. Hana Kim carded an opening round one-under-par 71 to place her in second after 18 holes, but fell to 14th after a second-round 81. Emily Gilley is currently in 20th with rounds of 78-77=155, while Christie Hermes rebounded from an opening round 81 to shoot a 76 in the afternoon round and finish the day in 26th.
The `Cats will return to the course tomorrow for 18 holes and wrap up the championships on Sunday with one final round.
