Men's Golf 12th After First Round of U.S. Collegiate Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team is in 12th place after shooting a 302 in the first round of the Ford U.S. Collegiate Championships Friday. NU trails first-place Georgia by 18 shots. The Eldorado Course in Los Cabos, Mexico is a par 72, 7,057-yard layout.

Individually, senior Luke Donald shot a 70 in the first round placing him sixth. He trails Nick Cassini of Georgia and Matt Jones of Arizona State by two shots.

Play continues Saturday with the final round on Sunday.
