Evanston, Ill. - The 44th-ranked Northwestern men's tennis team (8-5, 2-1) returns to conference action this weekend, traveling to Indiana to take on 52nd-ranked Purdue (11-5, 2-1) and 39th-ranked Indiana (9-4, 1-2). The Wildcats will begin play Saturday in West Lafayette at 1 p.m. against the Boilermakers. NU has dropped the last three matches between the two squads. Purdue boasts one of the top doubles pairs in the country in 18th-ranked Jason Marshall and Dan Swan. Marshall is also ranked 39th in singles.
On Sunday, the `Cats head south to face the Hoosiers at noon. Indiana is coming off its first conference win of the season, defeating Iowa 4-3. In their last meeting, IU squeaked out a 4-3 win over NU last season in Bloomington.
The `Cats have fallen in five of their past seven outings, with all losses coming at the hands of top 30 teams. Junior Jamie Sahara is currently fourth among No. 4 singles players in the conference with 14 wins. Sahara is also perfect in Big Ten competition, posting a 3-0 mark early in the season.
