Evanston, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team is atop the 16-team field after 36 holes of the USF/Waterlefe Invitational. The invite is being held at Waterlefe Country Club (par-72, 6009 yards) in Bradenton, Fla. Northwestern shot rounds of 290-305=595 to end the day +19, one up on host South Florida.
Hana Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) is leading the `Cats with rounds of 73-74=147 (+3) to put her in fourth-place for tomorrow's final round. She trails Michelle Simpson (Fla. Int.) by three strokes. Christie Hermes (Dixion, Ill./Newman Central) shot the low round of the day for NU carding a 71 in the first round. She is in 18th-place after shooting a second round 82.
