Men's Swimming Will Send Three to NCAA's

EVANSTON, Ill. - The NCAA has announced the qualifiers for the NCAA men's swimming championships to be held in College Station, Texas, March 22-24. Three Northwestern athletes will compete in a total of eight events.

Sophomore Kellan O'Connor (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy Preparatory) will swim the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 200 individual medley. O'Connor is seeded ninth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:44.92. He broke the school record three times this season in that event. O'Connor also enters the meet seeded 27th in the 200 individual medley and 38th in the 100 butterfly.

Freshman Tony Swanson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) will swim the 200 backstroke and the 200 and 400 individual medleys. Swanson broke school records in the 200 and 400 individual medleys at the Big Ten Championships from Feb. 22-24. He enters the meet seeded 23rd in the 200 backstroke, 25th in the 400 individual medley and 26th in the 200 individual medley.

Freshman Aaron McCracken (Naperville, Ill./Central) will swim the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. He is the current school record holder in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.49, which seeds him 17th in the national field. McCracken will also swim the 200 breaststroke, where he is seeded 30th.
