Women's Golf Tied For Third After First Day At "Mo"Morial

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team shot rounds of 310 and 304 to tie host Texas A&M for third place after two rounds at the Verizon "Mo" Morial Invitational. The Wildcats are 11 shots off the pace set by first-place Indiana University. The "Mo" Morial is being held at Pine Forest Country Club (par-72) in Houston, Texas.

Reigning champion Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) of Northwestern is currently in fourth place after shooting a school-record 69 in the afternoon round. Gilley took 12 strokes off her morning score of 81 to finish at 150. Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) is tied for fifth heading into the final round. Burden shot a seven-over-par 151 for the day. Hana Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) shot rounds of 76 and 78 to place her in a tie for 13th. Allison Johnson of Oklahoma leads the field with a two-round total of 145.

The "Mo" Morial will wrap up with one final round tomorrow. Tee times start at 8 a.m.
