Baseball Falls to Oklahoma, 17-6

The Northwestern baseball team fell to Oklahoma, 17-6, Sunday afternoon in Norman, Okla. The Sooners took two out of three from the Wildcats in the weekend series. NU's record drops to 7-7 on the year.

Oklahoma led from the start scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning. NU got on the board in the top of the third when Josh Lieberman (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) crossed the plate on a David Gresky (North Royalton, Ohio/St. Ignatius) fielders choice, but the `Cats left two runners stranded in the inning and a total of seven in the game.

Chuck Sanna (Sherman, Texas/Sherman) led the offense for the `Cats, entering the game in the fifth inning, and going 2-for-3 at the plate, knocking in two runs and scoring twice. Michael Nall (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) started for NU and was tabbed for the loss. His record drops to 2-1.
