Emily Butler Named to All-Big Ten Women's Basketball Team

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern sophomore Emily Butler (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) was named to the 2001 All-Big Ten team today, as announced by the conference office. This marks Butler's first conference honor.

Butler was an honorable mention selection by the coaches. She leads the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. Butler ranks 17th in the conference in scoring and ninth in assists (4.00 apg). In conference games, Butler ranks 12th in three-point field goals made (18), 11th in three-point percentage (.346), ninth in assists (3.87) and 21st in scoring (11.3).

Northwestern (4-22, 0-16 Big Ten) is seeded 11th for this weekend's Big Ten Tournament at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich. The Wildcats face sixth-seeded Illinois on Thursday night at 8 p.m. EST, with the winner advancing to Friday's quarterfinal round against third-seeded Wisconsin at 8:30 p.m. EST.
