Women's Golf Finishes Ninth of 18 Teams at Midwest Classic

Evanston, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf squad shot a final-round 312 to finish ninth out of 18 teams at the sixth annual Midwest Golf Classic in Dallas, Texas. The tournament was held at Bear Creek golf course (par-72). NU shot rounds of 315, 312 and 312 for a final score of 939, 36 behind Oklahoma State who led the field from start to finish.

Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) finished ninth out of 93 golfers with rounds of 77, 76 and 75 to lead the Wildcats. Burden's +12 total was 11 strokes off the pace set by tournament champion Mollie Fankhauser of Ohio State. The `Cats low score of the tournament was set by Burden and Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor). Gilley shot 75 on Day Two and finished the weekend in 30th place.
